Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair was five years old at the time she became the youngest child actor to appear in The Exorcist. She had been a model for 3 years, and was then cast as the child that was demonized, Regan. Linda was awarded the Golden Globe and was on path to be awarded an Academy Award. However, after the revelation the fact that Mercedes McCambridge had dubbed the Demon voice and that 8 seconds were played by a stunt double and the dream of having an A-list career was a failure. The next couple of years she was able to secure lead roles in a number of film productions, such as the hugely successful TV films Born Innocent (1974) (the top TV film of the year) as well as Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) along with the Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). She splurged on cocaine due to influence from her friends at the age of 18 years old, this resulted in her being detained and a sentence of three years of probation. Linda was removed from Hollywood after the much publicized drug arrest. The career of Linda was restricted to B movies and television appearances.
