In America The early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the child prodigy category. A child of Irish heritage, and surrounded as she was by gifted parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen joined this wonderful haven located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers," an eminent Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons' first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and was a gruelling athlete in games as a child. Her passion and her gift to perform was impressive. That was apparent that she was the winner of every Feis in drama and theatre which Ireland could provide. At the age of 14 she enrolled in at the Abbey Theater to follow her dream and study the classical theater and operatic singing.
